This page summarizes the private collection of Kris Udd.  The following commentary was written by him for publication on this website:

I am Registrar and associate professor at Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska.  I am working on a final degree at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, and my dissertation will focus on an aspect of the Early Bronze Age.  My interest in biblical archaeology goes back to my youth, and was further developed during a semester spent at Jerusalem University College in Jerusalem, Israel.  As part of that experience, I participated in excavations at Tel Beth Shean under the direction of Amihai Mazar.  One of my current hobbies, developed out of a need for illustrative material in the classroom, is the creation of replicas and models of items related to biblical archaeology.  My interest in LMLK handles comes from their relation to ancient Israel.  They are one of the few epigraphic items the average person can afford to own that can be identified with the reign of a Judean king.
